Kamaishi Memorial Park
Kamaishi Memorial Park highlights a monument marking the tsunami’s 11-meter height around Unosumai Station as the disaster’s memory and lesson. Other features include the cenotaph bearing the dead’s names and a flower stand, an inscription of the Counter-Disaster Citizens’ Charter representing their consented vow, and a column showing the Uosumai Disaster Prevention Center. The park is adjacent to the “Future Hall Connecting Life.”
